Description
Nearly every river on planet earth is home to small dark mayflies. I am almost never without a mayfly pattern on my nymph rig, and most of the time it is a Lickety Split. I began developing this fly around ten years ago. I was looking for a split case pattern that was durable, and in the color schemes that I found most productive. After messing around on the vice for a few months I came up with the black and pink Lickety Split which is still my favorite color combination to fish this pattern in. I also fish the Rust and Yellow to imitate PMDs. This is the most durable split case pattern I’ve ever come across which is important since fish after fish continue to try to mangle it unsuccessfully.
